Get involved for Aviva’s Global Mapathon
For the fourth year running, Aviva is hosting a Global Mapathon with our global strategic partner, the Red Cross to help build safer and stronger communities across the world.
The 2019 Mapathon will start week of Monday 14 October to tie in with International Disaster Reduction Day. On the 17 October, we'll be holding mapping parties across our global offices, mapping together to help the Red Cross support communities across the world to #BeReady when disaster strikes.
Since Aviva began mapping, hundreds of our people across 10 countries have mapped over 450,000 buildings and 13,500kms of road. This means we’ve already helped put a million people on the map, meaning aid organisations are ready to reach them when they need it most, for example, during a health epidemic or when extreme weather hits. Let’s not stop there.
This October, we would like to get even more people involved and that’s why we’re inviting you and your teams to take part.
All you need is a laptop and a wifi connection and to attend an hours training via Webex. If you’d like to be involved this year and even hold your own mapathon event with your team, all you need to do is email us with the subject line “Mapathon” by 30 September to firstname.lastname@example.org. We'll then email you further details of the training and how to take part.
Thank you for considering working with us to help communities become safer and stronger in times of uncertainty and crisis.
