Broker Community Fund 2014 finalists announced

This year we received 210 entries into the Aviva Broker Community Fund competition and it’s been amazing to see the many ways you and your colleagues are supporting local projects important to your community. We’re pleased to have announced our finalists plus there’s still more ways for you to make a difference this year…

Judging the 210 entries was inevitably a very difficult but enjoyable task for all our judges which this year included Saxon East, Editor of Insurance Times and Nik Springthorpe, MD of One Call Direct. Those who made our final shortlist shone for their commitment and passion to support the project in their local community through their well-considered and thorough applications.

Congratulations to our 24 Finalists who will join us at the awards event in November to be presented with a share of the £100,000 prize fund for their cause. The full list of finalists can be viewed on our Broker Community Fund website which also shows the 16 lucky Early Entry Prize Draw winners who have won a £500 donation for their charities.

From the start of the year, we’ve told you that the 2014 Aviva Broker Community Fund is about more than just the money. Through the more ways to make a difference campaign, we’re offering you a range of other ways to support your community project throughout the whole year including:

·         Volunteering – Ask your charity if they need support on a certain task, then tell us and we’ll do our best to provide the people.

·         Business Mentoring – If your charity needs professional help from legal, HR IT or marketing teams for example, let us know and we’ll advertise the opportunity on our volunteering board

·         Sponsorship Assets – Many of our brokers have already taken advantage of our Norwich City FC and Premiership Rugby assets including tickets, signed shirts and balls. Let us know if you’d like to auction or raffle off one of these items and we’ll do our best to help.

·         Promoting your Project – Getting local press coverage of your Community Fund efforts is a great way to raise the profile of your project. Download our guide on promoting your projects – local press are likely to want to cover your story.
