Changes to our commercial motor products

We’re making three changes to our commercial motor products – the removal of breakdown on Premier Truck, changes to our breakdown wording for other commercial motor products (including Fleetwise and Minifleet) and changes to our Legal Services and Advice cover.

Premier Truck

Customers have told us that our Premier Truck breakdown cover is not suitable and that specialist providers are better placed to meet their needs. Therefore, from Friday 1 December 2017 we’ll no longer be offering breakdown cover on our Premier Truck product.

Changes to the breakdown wording

For our other products where Breakdown is available, we’ve made some changes to the wording. These include:

  • Under Breakdown in the United Kingdom, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, Hotel Accommodation costs are updated from ‘£150 in total’ to ‘£150 per person or £500 for the whole party, whichever is less.
  • Under European Motoring Assistance (Accident and Breakdown) Travel costs to collect a vehicle repaired in Europe (standard class rail or airfare and public transport) are updated from no cover to ‘£600 plus up to £50 per day towards room only accommodation’.  Also, an aggregate overall limit per claim has been implemented: £2,500 for all vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes GVW and £5,000 for vehicles 3.5 to 7.5 tonnes GVW.

Changes to the Legal Services and Advice cover  

We’re bringing the underwriting of this Legal Expenses cover for Commercial Motor in-house – this was previously this was underwritten by RAC Legal.

What will you see?

From Friday 1 December, Commercial Motor customers will be receiving Notice to Policyholder informing of an update to the policy wording.
