Important information for Aviva customers travelling to The Caribbean and Florida

Although the immediate danger has now passed, the recent hurricanes have caused widespread damage across the Caribbean and in parts of Florida.

Infrastructure has been severely damaged and in some cases completely destroyed, some areas are still without power or water; transport and communications are limited, and many businesses across the region remain closed.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) recommends that if you are in the affected area, you should follow the advice of the local authorities including any curfews or evacuation orders still in place. We recommend you keep up to date with developments at FCO.


Aviva recommends that UK holidaymakers who have plans to travel there contact their airline or travel provider, in the first instance, for advice on cancelling or rearranging their trip.


In recognition of the uncertainty and to help our customers during this time, we have extended our standard travel insurance cover for customers due to travel to the affected area on or before the 5 November who wish to cancel their trip due to their pre-booked accommodation being uninhabitable or unreachable.
