Important information for Aviva customers traveling to Kos and Turkey south west coast
Aviva extends its deepest sympathies to those affected by the earthquake in the Aegean Sea.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 hit 12km (seven miles) north-east of Kos, near the Turkish coast, with a depth of 10km.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) recommends that if you’re in the affected area, you should follow the advice of the local authorities.
In recognition of the uncertainty and to help our customers during this time, we’ve extended our standard travel insurance cover for those either in the affected areas and who want to come home early or who have a holiday booked within 50 miles of the affected area and are due to depart on or before the 4 August who want to cancel or rearrange their trip.
Aviva recommends that UK holidaymakers who are either in the area, or have plans to travel there over the coming days contact their airline or travel provider, in the first instance, for advice on coming home early or cancelling or rearranging their trip.
If you have any customers who would like to make a claim they can contact us on:

Alternatively, for more information about any aspect of their travel insurance policy either visit our website at or contact us on 0800 096 8104 (lines are open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday).
This is a developing situation and we’ll continue to monitor and update you with any further developments.
