Important information for Aviva customers traveling to Central Italy
An avalanche has hit a hotel in the Central Italian region of Abruzzo, this follows several days of heavy snow and a number of earthquakes yesterday, 18 January 2017. The FCO are advising people in the area to follow local advice.
Aviva recommends that customers who are either in the affected area, or have plans to travel there over the coming days, contact their airline or travel provider in the first instance, for advice on coming home early or cancelling or rearranging their trip.
If your provider is unable to assist you; in recognition of the uncertainty and to help our customers during this time, we have extended our standard travel insurance cover and will consider claims for customers who are either in the region and want to come home early or who have a holiday booked that is due to depart before 2nd February 2017 and who may want to cancel or rearrange their trip.
If you have any customers who would like to make a claim they can contact us on:
- Personal Lines - 0800 015 1091
- Commercial Lines – 01243 621 359
Alternatively, for more information about any aspect of their travel insurance policy either visit our websiteor contact us on 0800 096 8104 (lines are open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday).
This is a developing situation and we will continue to monitor and update you with any further developments.
