The devastating floods
We’ve complete sympathy for all those who faced the devastation of storm-battered and flooded homes and businesses over Christmas and into the New Year. Our teams have worked tirelessly to care for and help our customers.
We were the first insurer on the ground, arriving even before the storms and flooding hit, ready to help customers immediately. Using digital technology, we used images from drones, merged with policy data to help us to pinpoint where our customers homes and businesses had been affected.
That data meant our Aviva Claims Service surveyor contract managers could visit affected customers on day one. So much activity took place from providing food and clothing to alternative accommodation, to name but a few things, to ensure we were doing the right thing for our customers. We also got involved at the local rescue centres to offer guidance and support.
Then it was on to the restoration process and our network of suppliers have been fantastic. In Cumbria, 98% of our customers properties affected have been stripped out and drying is well underway in nearly all of them. Our priority has been to get people back home and businesses trading again as soon as possible.
Here at Aviva, we're absolutely committed to doing all we can to help you and your customers through this very difficult time. Our claims service is our most important offering and by working together with you, our broker partners, we are able to respond immediately and help your customers in their time of need.
If you have any queries, please contact your Aviva claims relationship manager or your sales manager.
