Community Fund and beyond
This year’s Community Fund initiative may be over, but the fundraising efforts continue. Last month saw
trainers being dusted off and fitness levels challenged in a bid to raise additional funds for one worthy charity.
The Aviva Broker Community Fund started in 2010. Since that point, we’re proud to have donated over £290,000 of funding to worthy causes chosen by you.
At our finale event in April, Peter Foster, Managing Director of Hugh J Boswell, celebrated with his charity as they came away from the event securing £7500 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA)*.
The EAAA is a 365-day helicopter emergency medical service covering Norfolk, Bedfordshire, Cambridge and Suffolk. As the charity do not receive any direct Government or National Lottery funding, the £6million they need to run every year comes directly from charity donations.
“Both I, my team and the East Anglian Air Ambulance representatives are very grateful. This takes our total amount raised to £22,000 in two years” said Peter
And the support at Hugh J Boswell hasn’t stopped there. Keeping the fundraising spirit alive, a team of Aviva employees from Broker Marketing in Norwich, including the Head of Broker Performance Management and Marketing, Clark Ross, joined Peter Foster and his team in a 10k Runway Run at the end of September. Through this ambitious event, the team of runners were hoping to raise further funds for the charity and increase awareness of the life saving work undertaken daily by the EAAA. The day was a great success and the team managed to raise almost £5,000.
