Phil Bayles' New Year message
Firstly, as one of our Club 110 Members I just wanted to wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year. Although there are lots of big macro issues swirling around us such as the UK general election, the economic prospects on the ground are still largely favourable so hopefully we can all look to the coming year with some cautious optimism.
Before talking about 2015, I wanted to pause to briefly reflect on a successful year in 2014 both for Club 110 and Aviva. We really value the feedback you give us and it was clear from our time together in Munich, that you felt that we had our 'mojo' back and were delivering what you need to succeed from both a trading and claims perspective. In December, we won the 'General Insurer of the Year' accolade at the Insurance Times Awards, which was a great way to end the year, especially as it is voted for by brokers. So thank you, for all the positive sentiment and support that you gave us last year, it will spur us on to even better things as we enter 2015.
There are a number of things that we talked about at the annual conference which you'll see and hear more about in Q1. Aviva Premier, our market leading mid-market proposition, grew by 700% last year and Club 110 members were major drivers of this growth as it gives you the tools to compete with National brokers for larger clients. In February, we’re launching Aviva Premier for Fleet risks. This is a huge part of the market and one where we know we have a strong reputation already. Aviva Premier for Fleet will provide a more value added experience for fleet managers and I know it will give you the competitive edge that you need in a crowded market so please keep your eyes peeled, it will be with you very shortly.
The speciality lines deal that we announced has been very well received with growth of over 30% in November alone amongst Club 110 Brokers and I'm delighted to confirm that this commission enhancement will be maintained in Q1 for Club 110 brokers. We’re keen to increase the momentum on our speciality lines products and continue to demonstrate that we have clear appetite for all speciality lines with the inclusion of a first period of insurance cover match facility (for selected covers and named insurers). We hope this will provide you with confidence and certainty in our wordings and appetite and will be supported by the launch of a new bespoke proposition to assist you to consolidate all speciality lines business.
I’m pleased to advise that the Aviva Broker Collections Portal has been in pilot since the end of November and thanks to feedback from those of you involved, we'll be ready to begin a phased rollout at the end of the month, completing in early July. The enhanced online functionality, which includes daily refresh of data, will allow you to settle transactions, raise queries, and give the option to settle your statement by direct debit, plus much more. Our collections team will be in contact with you about this soon.
Club 110 is a very special institution to us and we look forward to another great year with what we feel is the UK's best broker club, thank you once again for a great 2014 and we are looking forward to working with you to help you grow and prosper in 2015.
